Posio Church
The Posio Evangelical-Lutheran Church is located 3 kilometres from the municipal centre beside road no. 863 (Posio-Taivalkoski). The church seats around 300 people. In the summertime, the church operates as a roadside church.
The church building was originally built in the 1920s and received its current form in the 1950s. The church grounds have a bell-tower and memorial to dead war evacuees. The soldiers’ cemetery of the parish village, located around half a kilometre from the church, has a hero statue made by sculptor Aimo Tukiainen.
