Mustarinnantunturi

The Mustarinnantunturi Nature Reserve is located in the north-western section of Posio. It is part of the more expansive Kiekkikaira district that belongs to the conservation programme for old-growth forests.

The district is only suitable year-round for hikers with good level of fitness. The area is particularly rugged wilderness with small-scale hillside, bog and lake terrain. There are no marked trails. You can get close to the area from different directions using dirt roads, which may be in poor condition.
