Auttiköngäs recreation area


Posio Lapland AuttiköngäsAuttiköngäs recreation area is situated near Posio, only 52 kilometres from the Posio town centre, in the city of Rovaniemi. There is a 3,5 kilometres long nature path, which is mainly paved with boardwalks. Along the path there is a suspension bridge and a view tower. The main attraction is the 16 meters high Auttiköngäs waterfall. In the starting point there is a lean-to shelter and an open cottage Uittopirtti. Auttiköngäs recreation area is part of Finnish nature conservation programme of the ancient forests.

Driving instructions:
52 kilometres from Posio to the direction of Rovaniemi (Road 81). Turn right and continue untill you reach the parking place and the starting point of Auttiköngäs recreation area.
